Bush is making a lot of earmarks in the current budget bill that he vetoed blaming Congressional Dems for being spend thrifts. That's all well and good except for this:

Shelby, R-Ala., who won $9.3 million for the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The second-largest was requested by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. — $8.4 million for the University of Louisville Research Foundation.
