James Surowiecki writes a nice column today on why the American automakers are screwed up.
I'll give you a hint as to his conclusion. They're not tanking because of health care costs.

I wish he had also pointed out the disparity between what Japanese CEOs make (compared to their lowest paid worker) and what American CEOs make (same comparison). The wage gap between top and bottom in each is glaring.
